It also doesn't hurt to have a "neighbor" like Omaha in drawing in tourists.Council Bluffs received the Tourism Community of the Year award for cities with a population of 10,000 or more. Angie Tyner, vice president of the Convention and Visitors Bureau, said the city was recognized for the development of events like Autumn in the Bluffs and the Festival of Trees, plus the development of the area around the Mid-America Center in adding to the existing casino attractions.
Hopefully, we can see some more cooperation between the two states in promoting the entire metro area. I would think it would be win-win for everybody.
