It seems like LaVista is growing large enough where they should start looking to add paid employees along with the Voulenteer Firefighters.La Vista won't be a one fire station town much longer.
The city is moving forward with plans to build a second fire station at the southeast corner of 108th Street and Chandler Road. Council members recently approved the final plans for the $5.5 million facility and have put the project out to bid.
The sleek, 23,000-squarefoot station could be built by March 2007, said former La Vista City Administrator Cara Pavlicek.
