Great, so people that can afford $60,000 SUVs and an extra convertible for little Susie get a tax break. The guy that buys a $500 beater saves what... 20 bucks?

Make the deduction for vehicles under $30,000 and you're on to something. Make the deduction for vehicles that get more than 30 MPG and you're on to something. This is just another "someone else pay for it" break.
