Group lobbies for national landmark status
The Hitchcock Nature Preserve in the Loess Hills north of Council Bluffs is well known around these parts for its beauty.

Now, an effort is being made to bring it national recognition.

On its annual trip to Washington to meet with Iowa's Congressional officials, the group known as the CB Ambassadors requested this week that the nature area be designated as a national landmark.
