There is no need to vilify GUN MANUFACTURERS. Jesus, it's one of the few all American owned, operated, employers left and people constantly try to limit the sale of their product. Genius!
Fixed that for me.

I haven't seen anything other than junk science like global warming showing that 2nd hand smoke ever killed anyone. If it was a regular exposure to, I'll by that it causes problems but not death.

Bullet = secondhand gun. :;):

The responsible use of guns does not kill anyone (assuming we're not talking about hunting and non-wartime here).  The responsible use of cigarettes, on the other hand...

How 'bout that?  Bet you didn't think I'd be on the pro-gun side, did you?  (NRA zealot freakazoids, however, are a different thread entirely...)

I suppose Jesus is junk science, too? :;):

You just want to shoot smokers. :gun:

All of the anti smoking nonsense in the country has gotten out of control. I know we've debated this to death already (I seem to remember me winning) so I'll just drop it and kick you in the balls the next time I see you Big E. :)

I was once in a checkout aisle of the grocery store and the guy in front of me was buying a pack of cigarettes, a case of bud light, and the smallest can of baby formula they sell.  When the cashier read him the total, he came up short.  Guess which item he passed on?

The baby formula.
That's disgusting.

I don't buy any of it. There's so much money being made from anti-smoking groups the the "studies" are so slanted that they can't be taken seriously. What person is even around second hand smoke that much? Really.

Yeah, more junk science.  You'd make a good fundamentalist evangelical Christian.

You could sell Holy Smokes (now with 0 tar!) at the gift shop at your Cavemen Riding Dinosaurs True Real Exactly As It Happened Science Museum.

I knew that Omaha had a lot of non smokers, but I did not think it was this tilted:

www.omaha.com wrote:Some smokers stocked up before a hefty tax increase became law. What about you?
•  Yes, I stocked up on cigarettes
(62)
•  I smoke, but didn't buy any extras
(121)
•  I smoke, but I'm quitting
(70)
•  I don't smoke

Its not that tilted.  All the smokers were standing in line at Sam's to buy pallets of Marlboro's and weren't able to vote in the poll.

I've been smoking more than usual lately. My bf does so they're around a lot more. I love how all of these government agencies want to tax the |expletive| out of cigarettes and use the money for projects, but then do all they can to make smoking problematic.

A pallet of Marlboro's, Awesome!  May be its because I see all the smokers standing outside now, but I thought it was way more than 15% to 20%, more like 30% or more.

Regardless of your stance on smoking, taxes go up, more people quit, repeat. Then where do we get those revenues from eventually? The 1% of the population that buys $65 a pack smokes? I don't think so.

How is it encouraging? It's just a bunch of people being bullied into quitting. Pretty much everything is bad for you but smoking gets portrayed as Satan incarnate.

Well after working in a bar for about a decade... Last night I had to call "Last Call for Smoking.... Smoke em if you got em"

People were smoking like chimneys that last 20 min, they were even clinking smokes together like they were cheersing before a shot...

30 min after the ban took effect, Mother Nature greeted the smokers with a heavy storm in LaVista.

OK, proponent or opponent, you have to laugh at this:

http://www.journalstar.com/news/local/d ... ogcomments
On Monday morning at The Depot in Ainsworth, just two people came in instead of the normal, early-morning crowd of roughly a dozen that has guzzled coffee, eaten breakfast and lit up cigarettes for years, restaurant manager Michael Lurz said.

The area’s district court judge, he said, was among those who told him he wouldn’t be coming by because of the ban that went into effect first thing Monday morning.

“Let’s just say that yesterday by this time I had $900,” in sales, Lurz said around noon. “Today, I’m lucky if I have $50.”
Assuming "roughly a dozen" actually means "one dozen", are you trying to tell me that ten people in |expletive| Ainsworth ate and drank $850 worth of breakfast and coffee?

In Ainsworth?

They serve $85 breakfasts in |expletive| Ainsworth?

dude.  why are you pokin'?  Not saying i agree or disagree with the smoking ban (i believe in people's right to smoke, but then again i also believe in people's rights to not deal with it---quite the conundrum), but it seems like you're pickin' to just to pick.  FYI--one aspect of maturity is knowing when not to say things...
