State Sen. Deb Fischer of Valentine will jump into race at a press conference Tuesday in Omaha.
Fischer's entry sets the stage for a hard-fought nomination battle, as up to five Republican candidates fight for the GOP nod and the right to take on Democratic U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson.
Here is one of the greatest quotes ever published,
"She believes firmly in what she believes," McCollister said.

Hassebrook to run for Senate:
Over the past few weeks, The Lyons Mirror-Sun and Oakland Independent have been reporting that Lyons resident Chuck Hassebrook was considering running for Senate. We've now learned that Hassebrook will announce his candidacy for the Senate Tuesday from Lyons, NE. Hassebrook will seek the Democratic nomination for the seat being left vacant by retiring Senator Ben Nelson. For the complete story, see the February 16th print editions of The Lyons Mirror-Sun and the Oakland Independent.
For the record  NEBUGEATER does not equal BUGEATER    !!!!!!!
