The video is ok, but I don't get the :27 mark where it says "visit nice" and shows an abandoned building with broken windows. (I think it is the Burlington Postal annex) but I wouldn't highlight that building in a video, at least not until it is renovated.

LOL Is this a joke??? Visit Nebraska on your way to Denver because it's "just nice"? ! Maybe other people would see this and want to stop and spend their money, but in my opinion this looks to me like someone is making fun of Nebraska.

Yes, I thought it was a joke since it said "on the way to Denver" but I wasn't sure.

Not trying to disparage anybody on here, but how can anyone watch that video and not realize it's a parody the moment they scroll "New York: Mean" across the Manhattan skyline?

Actually, rewatching the video, the moment the Voice Over says, "not great, not horrible" -- within the first 10 seconds, that's your cue.

When fortune smiles on something as violent and ugly as revenge, it seems proof like no other that not only does God exist, you're doing his will.

"The Good Life" is just one of those slogans that sticks, people like, it works, it makes sense, and I think that is "solid gold" as far as slogans go. It would be difficult to replace that, and come up with something better -- in my viewpoint. The "Possibilities...Endless..." can be thrown out, imo, because this is Nebraska, not Texas or California or Alaska (much bigger states, with varied landscapes & climates & geography & cities, ect), so it almost makes me roll my eyes and say "yeah...right." Don't get me wrong, I think so highly & well of my home state, but I don't feel the tourism possibilities are necessarily "endless" here, as much as they would seem other places.
I can get pushed out because I'm "too much" for some. Then, an observer of me comes suddenly swooping in to "fill my shoes." People are always more accepting of the new one, because their feathers aren't truly ruffled by them. (Yawn) I can count on it every time.

Editorial, 10/31: Nice to see ‘Nebraska Nice’ retire
Lincoln Journal Star wrote:Nebraska has, for at least four years, ranked last in the nation among people interested in visiting, according to the Portrait of American Travelers study. And the patently blasé adjective that led Nebraska’s tourism campaign seemed to have no meaning – and clearly had no success selling this great state to potential visitors.

Learning that Nebraska Tourism Director John Ricks is shelving the bland motto is refreshing and welcome. Calling the news nice would be a significant understatement in the realm of the tagline itself.

I'd personally like to see us be honest. I have a few:

"It's A'ight"
"Not that Bad"
"You'll be OK"
"Getting Better"
"Not just Corn, Soybeans too"
"Look at the Bright Side"
