“Nebraska Land & Sky” captures the isolation of rural life, in the dust kicked up by a tractor on a gravel road, abandoned barns and cows herded to a different pasture. There are hay bales dotting the landscape, combines in fields of wheat and storms rolling in across the sky.
The program shows another perspective on our cities, with views all around the State Capitol and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In Omaha, the crew captured the Lauritzen Gardens and the Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium, Boys Town and the Creighton and University of Nebraska at Omaha campuses, among other locations around town.
I watched the show as well. I thought they did a good job including a small narative before each scene and then showed the aerial shots with just music. It was kind of peaceful watching the show. The only thing I didn't like was the fact they kept interrupting with people trying to get you to pledge money to NET, although I know that is what pays theirs bills. The show also included some short clips of CU and NU basketball, NU baseball and UNO hockey.
