I didn't think much of it on Saturday Morning, but by Saturday night when they decided not to pre-treat the streets because the chemicals would just rain away... I figured that the heavy wet snow would turn to slush then to ice... It almost seemed like the city was caught of guard by this type of storm, on a Super Bowl weekend no less. I know that some neighborhood roads are still pretty much iced over, and maybe for a few days yet...
We are lucky the sun was out all day. It helped my street a lot, but we also get a lot of traffic too.

People are stupid. People want everything right now, no exceptions. I think for a 10 inch snowfall, heavy snowfall, the city did great. People need to chill!

How many times have we seen UNO closed in the past years?

Storm that snarled morning commute, closed area schools moves out
Jay Withrow and Nancy Gaarder: World-Herald staff writers wrote:UNO has canceled classes for the day, officials said, and Creighton pushed back its start to 10:45 a.m. Metro Community College started at noon.

I know they closed twice on consecutive weeks when I attended during the mid 2000's. At the time, everyone was saying that was the first time they had in over a decade.

I can't remember exactly when, but in the early 80's, they closed the campus when the parking lots were a sheet of ice, and the wind kept blowing the cars down the hill into each other...

I just drove past the 680 interchange on I-80, and saw the OFD putting out a grass fire. I guess we are down on precipitation right now.

Upper 80's with a south wind and super low humidity....

The humidities are really low all over... Norfolk 9, Fremont 12, Wayne 7, Lincoln 10, Omaha 13, NE City 5, Plattsmouth 8.

Winds appear to be gusting in to the mid 30's throughout the area.

No, Record highs across the state. Some even broke the record for the whole month. Omaha broke the record by some 7 or 8 degrees.

Think I saw Al Gore out by Zorinski taking soil and air samples. Get your check books handy.

I'm happy it snowed one more time. I really like snow, and I like how heavy this one was.
