DSM has a lot of good stuff going on. They are getting a city build 7 floor garage with 190 apartment units in 12 floors above it.

Something like this would be beautiful on south in Omaha on 10th street or in Midtown

Great use of the space. Downtown Omaha could use 1 or 2 of these.

Where's ours?? Oh wait it was a hole in the ground. That place looks freakin sweet though. Good for them. At least we'll be getting our 12 story one with Capital.

And, city-build??

Sorry must of got an auto correct to build. The garage is goin to be paid for by the city and be a public garage.

What's funny is I keep having to remind myself that, technically, we already have a few of these, such as the Highline, The Wire, Slate, and whatever the Capital District's apartment building is going to be called.

I've been wondering why we haven't been getting any tower apartments. Now that we're out of big empty buildings, AFAIK, I would expect one relatively soon.

We have to wait until the old Marcy Street power plant is full before that too.

And supposedly HDR will employ this garage pedestal theme, is it a trend now? It's possible we get something like this on top of the Crossroads garage ally bough probably not so tall. Beyond that bulldoze ConAgra and Sloan a few up along 10th.

We know that a massive parking garage is going to be built as part of the Lot B development. This is exactly what is needed there.

Sounds like the plans for the high-rise aren't happening after all. Principal Financial is buying the land and going to build the parking garage without residential above it.

Yes, but the residential will now be between 6-8 floors not 11 floors on top of 6-7 floors of parking.

Ouch, but I think some of us here in Omaha know the pain with the way the Wallstreet Tower worked out.

Even by parking garage standards, that place is ugly.

Really interesting stuff going on in DSM development wise. A Chicago based development firm released rendering of a 15 story tower for a site along the riverfront. It appears that the YMCA and a DSM developer had already struck a deal for the land, the timing of it is interesting. Kind of seems like a power play by the out of state developer as the local one hasn't came forward with a rendering for their plan.
