I just found this picture of a newly constructed in the Czech Village area of CR. It looks amazing. They did a great job, almost looks like they renovated an old building. We could use a few of these in our downtown.

So, if the HPA ultimately razes the Specht, Alvine, and HHC, suppose that they could design the faces of their parking garage in a similar fashion, and use the facade of the Specht accordingly...

Very cool. Good infill for some of the surface lots and other under-utilized spaces downtown....could increase the size and take it 6-8 stories and fill-in some of the ConAgra campus.

Do you happen to know the price tag for that project?

It does look very nice.

Developers of NewBohemia Station will break ground Friday for the $4 million mixed-use building at 1028 Third St. SE in Cedar Rapids.

The four-story, 14-unit apartment building, next door to NewBo City Market, will have first floor retail and second floor commercial space. The third and fourth floors will have one- and two-bedroom apartments, each equipped with a balcony and washer and dryer.
I am surprised it is only $4 million. To put that into perspective, the 3 story building in the Old Market that houses Plank, Little King and Juice Stop was $4.7 Million.

Here is the rendering for the finished product.

This is in an area that was damaged a lot by the flooding in 2009 or 2010.
