I sure hope that lake gets back to normal soon, its a cool lake.The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is dangling a money-for-water swap in front of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, seeking to preserve a pool of water in Lake McConaughy.
"If we're not proactive, then we'll all be sitting around looking at a bunch of dead fish," said Kirk Nelson, assistant Game and Parks director, about his agency's proposal to lease water to keep it in the drought-plagued reservoir.
"All we need is one more dry year and we'd be in big trouble," Nelson said Monday, especially if the Fish and Wildlife Service "took its water out."
