National Downhill Racing Championship to be held in Panama
Panama is holding a national championship this weekend.

Not Panama - the country, but Panama - the Shelby County community of 212 located on Highway 191.
He said this year's event will feature two classes: The stock class, with men's and women's divisions, and a 16- to 17-year-old group, using as-is creepers. The modified class, with men and women competing together, allows racers to make changes to the vehicle for maximum speed. Kloewer said the modified creepers travel two to three times faster, hitting up to 30 mph.

Not to worry if you can't find a creeper or don't want to invest in one until you've crept to the finish line. Kloewer said he'll have some available on race day.

Prizes will be awarded, and Kloewer promises there will be food and drink, including beer, at the finish line.
