Union Pacific marked the opening of a locomotive maintenance and repair facility Monday at its Bailey Yard in North Platte, Neb.
U.P. crews are set to handle coal trains with the same kind of intensity and efficiency as a NASCAR pit crew during a race, Scott said. Improvements have included more trains handled per day and less time needed to inspect, repair or provide maintenance.
