Grand Island's economy got a big boost this morning as Gov. Dave Heineman delivered the good news that a new business will create as many as 200 jobs in the next three years with an $18 million economic impact.
In an application filed by the company to take advantage of Grand Island's LB840 Local Option Municipal Economic Development Program, Structured Solutions said it will hire approximately 30 engineers at a starting wage of $45,000 to $90,000 a year, 57 customer operations employees with wages of $36,000 to $72,000 a year, 22 managers at a pay rate of $68,000 to $96,000 a year and 20 administrative employees at a rate of $25,000 to $36,000 a year. Total annual wages will exceed $5 million.
22 managers?? Â Seems like a lot for 200 employees---I'd be concerned with the future possibility of management consolidation and downsizing right off the bat. Â Good for GI though.
