Horse racing at Fonner Park

Fonner Park track announcer Steve Anderson was a guest on KXPN (ESPN) a few days ago and said that attendance and handling are up nicely at Fonner Park this season. While Columbus Ag Park may be in limbo this coming season and Lincoln Race Track is already shedding payroll before the season starts, Steve suggests an expanded meet may be in Fonners future, or, a split season with a second session run in the fall.

I've only been out three times this season. The two previous were really nice sized crowds, while this past Saturday, which was a really really nice day, I saw a smaller crowd, maybe only a couple of thousand, although I was only there for the first few races.
