Euro Debt and the DOW

Post by S33 »

Anyone else see the dow just plummet 800pts in 10 minutes for a grand total of -1000? (Although it's come back around 500 as of now)

Not that it's much more of indicator other than blind panic, but this goes to show the economy is not even close to being on the rebound and I'm sick of the media playing it off like it is.

Exactly my point. If they are going to provide content on the state of our economy, then don't bull |expletive| people. The economy sucks and we are standing right behind Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain with the same debt problems.

It's also funny how the Greek socially fed unions firebomb the streets and charge the parliament because their spoiled |expletive| will have to "cut-back" some.

Yay for socialism and their government subsidized 20 hour work weeks and 100% retirement.

The drop was due to a trading error.  Accenture at one point sold for a penny, instead of the usual around 60.  The greek economy is minute in relation to the world economy.  Small potatoes.  Same with Spain and Portugal.  The sky isn't falling, chicken little.

The error was P&G, which was only responsible for 170 or so of those points.

And call me chicken little all you want, Greece's problem is ours just the same.

Ok CL, the market came back quickly, Greece's problem is more a problem for Europe than the US, especially the EU, and Greece is still a very small player on the world stage.

Wait for the whole story to come out.

Well, chicken half-wit, there's not really a story "waiting to come out". The fact is that there are a handful of countries with debt crises looming very similar to that of Greece. The US and UK being included. Hence, "being our problem".

Focus - less on false rumors, more on the economy.  :;):
