Commission approves Herzing University campus plans
Journal Star wrote:A state commission has approved a for-profit university's plans to open a campus in Lincoln and expand one in Omaha. On Thursday, the commission approved Herzing University's plans to expand into Lincoln with 17 academic programs. The Milwaukee-based school has 10 campuses in eight states.

Baker University, based in Baldwin City, Kan., has six additional campuses in Kansas and Missouri and wants to offer four academic programs in Omaha: an associate of arts in business, bachelor of business administration, master of business administration and master of arts in education. Founded in 1858, Baker is a nonprofit university affiliated with the United Methodist Church and had 4,329 students at its combined campuses this spring. The commission tentatively scheduled a July 19 public hearing for the application July 19 and could make a decision Aug. 5
