Omaha's urban cowboys will soon have another option for boots and belt buckles. Sheplers, the Western wear store based in Wichita, Kan., is opening a Nebraska location south of Nebraska Furniture Mart at 970 S. 72nd St.
I find it intersting that the photo caption both in the printed paer and on line says "Sheplers, based in Wichita, is opening its first Nebraska location south of Nebraska Furniture Mart on 72nd Street."
If memory serves me correct this may be the only location in Nebraska after it opens but it is not the first. Â Wasn't the building that is now Whole Foods near Westroads originally a Sheplers?
For the record NEBUGEATER does not equal BUGEATER !!!!!!!

Yes, that building used to house Sheplers, I had a friend that worked there in the late 70's.
Stopped in Sunday to take a look. I had just ordered some new boots from them online but wanted to see what they had in stock. Boots a little limited depending on brand, but a nice store.
Side note -- I don't know what else is in that little area besides them and HuHot but it was a busy street entrance

Not true. No drive is worth the drive for a pair of cowboy boots.
Speak for yourself. I love my pair of boots.
I agree - I have had and worn western boots for the last 30+ yrs and find them very comfortable. Actually had a podiatrist ask me once why I wore them and said they felt good. He said it was the best thing for my feet.

The building design when Burlington still was in there had the Shelpers look.
