SkyVu (Battle Bears)

Post by nebugeater »

So this billboard has been up along I 80 for a week or two now.  The interesting part is where it says MADE ON OMAHA.  This does not appear to be the type of app I follow or use but I am curios.  Is this a small time company splurging on a billboard to try and get traction or is this from some established company here in Omaha that does a bunch of this stuff.  At FREE it will take a lot of downloads to pay for the billboard.  Most like  the hope is this will get you hooked to buy the Upgrade version.

SkyVu Named Top 50 Developers of 2012
44. SkyVu
New entry

US developer SkyVu continues to build out its 3D shooter Battle Bears franchise, adding new games, themes and modes, most notably its real-time four-on-four multiplayer Royale game.

Mixing up the paid model with free-to-play, the series has now been downloaded over 14 million times.

Certainly not on an Angry Birds scale, nevertheless with a core fanbase, and merchandising such as comic and plushes, not to mention a push into animated content and social games, it's a great demonstration of the power of mobile to kickstart a media property, even a niche one.
