QT Kitchens

Post by Brad »

Inside the QT Gas Station at 60th and L Street they have a large banner blocking off the middle of the back wall. The banner says "Coming Soon, QT Kitchen". I looked behind the banner and they are building a kitchen back there. Not huge, but looked like it was going to be a legit kitchen.

Looks like the web page isn't even built yet! Are we a test market?

May be they are adding them everywhere.

CSP Daily News wrote: QuikTrip is in the process of installing the QT Kitchens counters in most of its 685 c-stores across the nation, the report said. Tulsa, Okla.-based QuikTrip, a privately held corporation, owns and operates its retail outlets in 11 states.

Inside the Tucson store, along with the usual assortment of amenities, QuikTrip is offering an array of hot-cooked food items, as well as customized frozen treats, the Explorer said.

They are most likely doing something very similar to what Casey's is doing, offering everything from Pizza, pasta, subs, to all the basic pre-frozen snack items. If you talk to some of the upper management at Casey's they'll tell you that "they are a restaurant who happens to sell fuel, which is a load of bull, but that's the concept.

Casey's is the third largest pizza chain in the US. We may be seeing a trend developing here...

With Pay-at-the-pump, there is really very little reason to ever set foot in that type of place, unless you are really hungry. Makes sense to offer something more like a restaurant. They should add drive through windows at the pump or delivery to the pump...feed yourself and your car.

Only if they serve in roller skates. Seriously though, a drive thru window is an awesome idea, and I'm surprised that isn't more common. (Although I've seen them at some of the tobacco/gas stations in Omaha.

So like Sonic, but with gas pumps..... I think you have as good a chance of geting GAS at any sonic as you do at a gas station!

All-purpose vending machines for gas or food or whatever else you can think of, a six pack, bundle of firewood, cat litter, etc. Haha!
