Thelen said a company is considering an expansion in Omaha could bring 300 jobs along with an office component. That company has not yet committed to expanding here, but the prospect itself is good news, Thelen said: “You don’t get many half-billion-dollar projects that come through the door,” he said. He wouldn’t name the company.

After the ConAgra fallout, this may be perfect timing.....

Were going to be needing a lot of help after this year. Can't wait to see who it is.

I'm going to guess that the one in Omaha is PayPal.

I would think they would have considered expanding before they built their new building in order to house everyone under one roof.

The wording makes it sound like warehouse or maybe data center. An office for 300 doesn't cost half a billion.

Got to be a data center. A (huge) half a billion dollar warehouse would have to be totally automated to be that few jobs, and that kind of total automation isn't quite possible yet.

Aw. Not really in the mood for a data center with the whole ConAgra escapade...

PayPal is pushing their expansion in Chandler. They just added another 150 jobs in the last couple of months in Arizona. I know they do need more room here and own the empty lot south of their parking lot.

Chandler will give them more than $1.5 million next year. They get $1,000 per job for the first 800 jobs created and $1,500 per job for the next 500 jobs. Max amount is $5 million. Since 2010 they added 1,800 jobs with a lot being call center type jobs.
