MBJ 40 under 40

Curious if anyone here has any experience either winning the Midlands Business Journal's 40 under 40 (or 30 under 30), or nominating an individaul for the award. I made a nomination this year, and last, and he/she was not chosen either time...There was no follow up by the MBJ and based upon the list of recipients for 2016, I was a little shocked.
