WASHINGTON - A popular saying in Mexico goes like this: You can't get out of bed in the morning without putting money into Carlos Slim's pocket.
Carlos Slim Helz, 67, is kingpin of the Mexican telecommunications industry and might be the richest man most Americans have never heard of.
In Forbes magazine's annual ranking of the world's richest people, released last month, Slim was third. But since then, Slim has added another $4.1 billion to his fortune, passing Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Chairman Warren Buffett of Omaha, according to Forbes' Web site.
