Re: Omaha CVS Discussion
I guess I will put this Walgreen's news bit in this thread,
Walgreen's will be opening a 'Walgreen's Specialty Pharmacy' on 77th and Dodge in the former Celerion building.
I had to look this one up, I don't know if there are any others like this in the Metro:

In the letter addressed to CVS President and Chief Executive OfficerLarry J. Merlo, Festersen said CVS "has failed to perform even the basic level of maintenance on the site."
Festersen said the site is "a blight on the neighborhood."
CVS bought the property with the intention of building a new store. Construction was to begin in 2009.
The council president said CVS has not responded to several inquiries he has made concerning the site's care and development.
Festersen said he is instructing the Planning and Law Departments to "pursue any and all avenues to force CVS to mow and maintain the site...remove deteriorating chain link fence, and conduct further grading on the site."
The council president ends the letter stating he is "disappointed in CVS as a corporate citizen" and plans to encourage other council members to unfavorably view any other development and liquor license requests until a "favorable response" is received.

I'd have to look back, but this has been in the plans for some time, that corner was slated for redevelopment for years, it should be in a thread somewhere, with the widening if that intersection I don't think they could sit on it...

I thought I saw something on Twitter about CVS not being in-network prescription provider for BCBS NE anymore because of some disagreement. Do any of you know if this is true or not?

Maybe 10 years or so. It has horrible access from the east. And just try to go west after you filled up.Greg S wrote:Wow that's kind of a shocker. Isn't that a fairly new Bucky's?

LOL. I always laugh at the people that go west past 60th and try to turn left in to Bucky's, because its way easier to turn left at the light at 60th, and then take a right in to Bucky's.Coyote wrote:It has horrible access from the east.
Yes, that was bad for many years, but now with the new Arbor street open, just take arbor down to the Baxter and then get back on center.Coyote wrote:And just try to go west after you filled up.

Shhh...don't tell too many people. I take Arbor every day to get into and out of Aksarben Village. It beats having to deal with all the traffic on 60th, especially when they were doing construction.Brad wrote: Yes, that was bad for many years, but now with the new Arbor street open, just take arbor down to the Baxter and then get back on center.

Its hard to believe they would tear the one down on the SW corner to move to the SE corner.

Umm, Bucky's is already located on the southwest corner of this intersection. Why would they also own land on the southeast corner?Greg S wrote:Wow that's kind of a shocker. CVS will close 900 stores over the next 3 years.
It's a safe guess that we will lose some.

The 900 store closure represents 10% of all CVS locations nationwide. I did a search and there are 15 Omaha area CVS locations. Using the 10% math, closing 10% of the Omaha metro locations means losing 1.5 stores. I’d probably say it’s likely 1 or 2 locations in the metro get shuttered.. Just to provide some context to the numbers..It’s also possible all Omaha metro locations are spared too..bbinks wrote: ↑Thu Nov 18, 2021 6:37 pm CVS will close 900 stores over the next 3 years.
