I assume Omaha will likely see a few cuts.

Are you referring to Paypal I assume?   Interesting enough 3 years ago I had a employee referral and still no interview.   Next Monday I have an interview there with no referral, wish me luck!

The cuts will eliminate an unspecified number of customer service jobs at eBay's PayPal call center in La Vista, which employs about 3,000 people.

Perhaps they're expecting you to do the job of 1600 people?  Have fun with the 56,000 hour work week.   :;):

The media is making it sound like EBAY and PayPal are laying these people off because of the economy.  The real reason is because they have acquired so many competitive companies that they are seeing a large percentage of overlapping jobs.  They are still hiring in the other areas.  They actually are not expecting to have any net employment loss by the end of the year.  The amount that they have hired will by far exceed the amount let go.
