CHRISTINE LAUE WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER wrote:Deeb Realty founder and owner Van Deeb is selling his company — one of Omaha’s largest real estate firms — to employee Andy Alloway.

Alloway will keep the Deeb Realty name and culture, Deeb said today.

"I am not retiring," Deeb, 49, said. "I’m just going down a different path of motivational speaking across the country."

Deeb said the company had never been for sale, although competitors have offered to buy it in the past.
CHRISTINE LAUE WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER wrote:Deeb started in real estate when he was 21 years old and formed Deeb Realty out of his garage when he was 34, working as its only agent. Today, the firm has 350 agents.

An Omaha native who gave up a strength coach job with the Milwaukee Brewers to pursue a local real estate career has created a new brand for his company.

Deeb Realty, which Andy Alloway bought six years ago, will be called Nebraska Realty.

The name change comes as the company, one of Omaha’s largest real estate firms, prepares to move into a newly constructed headquarters and continues a growth stride that saw sales last year expand by 20 percent over the year before.

“We wanted instant recognition — something we didn’t necessarily have to explain, but mirrors who we are,” Alloway said.
