Shaanxi EasyWay International Ltd. is opening its North American headquarters in the new Southport development in La Vista, where it will bring in four company executives and hire 15 people locally, according to papers filed with the City of La Vista.
Wen Laing Xu, EasyWay's majority owner and CEO, and state and local officials are to cut a ribbon at the office Monday afternoon.
EasyWay is leasing 4,200 square feet of first-floor space in a new office building near a lake adjacent to the Cabela's outfitter's store at 12120 Port Grace Boulevard.
EasyWay said it considered a North American headquarters location in Vancouver, British Columbia, but settled on the Omaha area because of Nebraska's central location, its “positive business climate” and focus on logistics education. The proximity of transportation companies, including Werner Enterprises, Crete Carrier Corp. and Union Pacific Railroad, also was a factor, the company said.
