Denver aerials last fall

Post by the1wags »

Last fall I went up in the whirlybird for some Denver aerials. I never put them up anywhere until recently. A few for your consideration...

1. Looking over Cheesman Park towards downtown.
Image

2. Overlooking the Platte Valley, the Union Station area, LODO, and the CBD.
Image

3. Looking south over Coors Field, downtown, and Pikes Peak to the south.
Image

4. Pepsi Center and DTD. GO AVS!!!  :)
Image

5. One for the Broncos fans.
Image

6. Civic Center. City Hall on left, Capitol on Right.
Image

7. Union Station area. Lots different already.
Image

8. Looking due west over City Park.
Image

9. Straight west down Colfax on the left. City Park on the right.

Awesome Shots Josh!

Shouldn't REI be in that second shot or am I completely turned around?

Thanks guys!

Brad, you are turned right. REI is just out of the shot at the bottom right. It sits at the west side of the confluence.

Great shots...being a Rockies' fan I especially like #3.  I visited Denver 2 years ago for the first time in a while and can't wait to go back.  Hopefully to see a Rockies' game.  My wife has family in the area, so there is a good chance I will get to sometime soon.

If you've never been the stadium before, it's a real treat. Absolutely amazing views and wonderful venue.

I'm a Braves fan, but wholeheartedly agree about Coors Field. It's a beautiful park. Rock pile tickets are $4 and if you go to the top, there are great views of the city and the mountains.

These are fantastic!  Thanks for sharing.

I actually found myself looking at all the newer midrise buildings in LoDo more than the actual skyline.  That area looks so cool.

All very cool, and I agree, looking over city park and the city is great. Did you get one over Sloan?

Thanks!  I don't recall going over Sloans Lake. I had him make a beeline to downtown, do about 3 loops around,  a loop around Cherry Creek, then down to the Tech Center, then flyby DT on the way back to Rocky Mountain Airport. I'll post some more up when I can.

Fantastic photos.  I spent a week in downtown Denver last summer, and it most definitely doesn't suck.
