The silence is deafening about the HQ's staying in Omaha.

Tearing down the Jobbers Canyon was one of the few good things the city did downtown in the last 20 years. You want to talk about stupid lets talk about the 100 million dollar baseball stadium sitting empty most of the time that we really could not afford that was built anyway. Lets talk about the the millions spent on the Century Link arena that should of been built out at Aksarben where it would of been centrally located. Lots of projects downtown were boon doggles and stupidity in motion but tearing down the Jobbers Canyon was the right thing to do even if ConAgra was not moving in there.
 We've already been through all of that. You're just dead wrong. You need to re-read everything you can find on the subject and report back once you absorb it all.

Agreed. Jobbers was absolutely NOT a rat hole worth tearing down:

And if you want to talk about lives lost, let's not forget that ConAgra's Slim Jims killed Macho Man Randy Savage! (probably)

I'm having a fun time thinking about what we can have if we rebuild the street grid and keep the lake. Imagine that! The possibilities are huge for this site.

It's possible, but it'll be a long, long, time and cost a lot, a lot, of money.

Perfect opportunity for a guy like Warren Buffett perhaps?

Not from a guy who built his life off sound investment advice. Maybe something more for Kiewit, HDR, LAD, and DLR to handle, and FNB to finance.

We can probably work out a deal that says "you can leave, but tear down your buildings and put the streets back". It seems fair to me!

Here is another sad picture: While ConAgra's new buildings were going up, the historic Jobber's canyon buildings were coming down in the background.

Connelly should be mailed one of these pictures every month for the rest of his life.

isnt there one building left from jobbers canyon, its a empty brick shell. It can be seen from the harrahs casino area side of the river and the omaha side it sits south of conagra building 11. it looks like its either being torn down or renovated at the moment. <more on the torn down side>
