Benson

A few shots from around Benson today.

A poorly dressed, hobo Avalanche fan in front of a salon. :)

dang im pretty impressed with the benson strip lately seems like a lot of neato little shops are going in and making the strip totally worth going to every now and then the bar scene there is pretty fun too :) reminds me of a lame version of the old market but still kick |expletive| since you can park your car and bar hop without even having to drive anywhere :)

I don't think it's fair to compare it to the Old Market. I'm glad it's not like the Old Market. Benson is definitely a part of town that stands on it's own merits. I kick myself for not going there more when I lived near there.

nice pics! they really show how Benson is being revived into a hip neighborhood.  Would've liked to see pics of Mick's or the Waiting Room.  It'll be interesting to see how Benson continues to evolve the next few years.

Now that you mention it, I don't think I even thought to look for the Waiting Room. We started out near there but headed the other way and stuck with that.

I said this a while ago, but Benson is the new Dundee.

Gold Coast/Joslyn Castle Neighborhood is the new Benson.
Benson is the new Dundee.
Dundee is the new Old Market.
Old Market is the new West O.  :P

I would probably give Benson the edge over Dundee as far as main streets. There is just so much more on Maple St. then there is on Underwood.

Very nice! :)

I know I said a while back that I wanted to do a similar thing of South Omaha, I did get an hour or so shooting back in December, and if the weather is not too icky this coming weekend, I'm planning to go back there and finish the shoot.

I told {um, somebody, this is embarrassing} that I would do a blog entry on that and let them copy them. That's what I was going to do.

My two favorites were easily the black and white "AIR CONDITIONED" and the shot of the nearly completed death star....I mean research facility.  Looking at it immediately reminded me of star wars return of the jedi.  For that very cool!!!
