Former Creighton forward Julian Nash was selected by FC Dallas in the fourth round of Major League Soccer's SuperDraft on Friday. Nash became the 13th player out of Creighton to be drafted by MLS.

His selection gives the Bluejays the distinction as the only college soccer program in the nation to have at least one player selected in each draft of the league's existence.

Also during the draft, former Bluejay standout and longtime San Jose Earthquake Richard Mulrooney was traded to FC Dallas (formerly the Dallas Burn).

BALTIMORE, Maryland – FC Dallas concluded the 2005 MLS SuperDraft at the Baltimore Convention Center on Friday making four selections over four rounds.

During the four rounds, FC Dallas made four picks, and the club used those selections on: Drew Moor of Indiana University (1st round, 6th overall), Winston Marshall of Wright State University (3rd round, 27th overall), Chris Gomez of Brown University (3rd round, 28th overall) and Julian Nash of Creighton University (4th round, 40th overall).

“Overall we’re very happy with the four players we drafted today because we picked up some very good prospects for our soccer club,” FC Dallas Head Coach Colin Clarke said. “We are very pleased with this draft and look forward to these young players growing in our system over the next few years.”

Great to see. Julian was such a great player. I don't know that he's really met his full potential yet. I expect him to have a great career in MLS.

This also keeps alive the streak of Creighton having a player drafted in the MLS draft every year the league has been in operation. :)

Nash got traded from Dallas to San Jose, so he will be reunited with Rodriguez!
