Oh, I could hear it all throughout my office. Our CEO was at the game and everybody was in his office watching.

Of course the talking heads are up in arms about the alleged foul on the final play, but fail to recognize the sexual molestation of Gregory Butterfingers the entire game. Oh well, at least Alabama can keep their heads high with the "we should have won that game" mentality.

Great win for the Jays, I just wished that they would have made some of those free throws late in the game to put it away (they missed 4 out of the last 5).  But I am glad that they are moving on.  They will need to have a much better game in the next round.

Go Jays!

Nobody was working in the media center today; they were all crowded around the tv with the Jays game on! There must have been some sort of viewing party on the snd level of the convention center because there were *huge* cheers echoing all over the place. Wow!

Looks pretty clear here.

Still if the ref doesn't blow his whistle it doesn't matter.  Creighton moving on and no Jays fans will remember the no call in the future.

My point was more that foul or no foul, the refs missed a lot of calls that game both ways, and some obvious fouls on Gregory Echinyquemutumbo. (no I don't know how to spell his name)

Oh, and here's a better link

The real point is that if CU would have lost by one they would have complained too  to complain about Al mentioning the no cal, is laughable. The only difforence is who one and that is it. i
For the record  NEBUGEATER does not equal BUGEATER    !!!!!!!

Oh stewardess, I speak drunk.

"The point was that if CU had lost they also would have complained. Alabama's complaining about the last no-call is simply sour grapes. The only difference is one team won and the other lost. Golly!"

Great season for the Jays.  They can't do much about running into one of the elite teams this season.  UNC was obviously more talented and it showed.

I can't wait for next season, the Jays should continue their winning ways.

Among other things.

The Gibbs wink.  The Wragee foul on Marshall that ended up breaking his wrist.

According to Shatel Rasmussen's email has been flooded with hate mail from pissy UNC fans.

If Creighton would have shot their season average percentage wise, this would have been a game. I don't think Creighton is as out-manned against UNC as most people would have you think.

Lol.  I'm pretty sure the defense may have had a hand in limiting the fg percentage.

Tolliver went 23 and 7 in 2OT with 2-4 from 3 last night.  Cool to see him hitting a little stride in the NBA.

I agree, Creighton definitely had their chances but did not execute when they needed to.

That's been the story a lot though. There haven't been many games where CU was outplayed more than they shot themselves in the foot with turnovers and low 3pt percentage.

McDermott was officially named first team All-American today by the AP.

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketb ... erica-team

McDermott quoted:
"It's really special. It really hasn't hit me yet. Later down the road it will," McDermott said of his selection. "It's something real cool to be in the company of some of those names. Creighton never had one. It's really cool to be able to be the first, especially with all the great players who have been at Creighton over the years."
Great to see this, and with two more years, he and the Bluejays have a very bright future.

McDermott wins Lute Olson National Player of the Year
Creighton sophomore Doug McDermott received the Lute Olson national player of the year award in New Orleans, site of this weekend's Final Four.

The Lute Olson Award is presented annually to the nation's top Division I player who has played at least two seasons with his respective team. Freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible. The award, now in its third year, was won by Sherron Collins (Kansas) in 2010 and last season by Kemba Walker (Connecticut), and is presented by collegeinsider.com.

Should be a great year next year as well with 9 out of 10 letter winners returning.  Great to see Creighton was #1 out of the non-BCS schools.  Due to capacity though, it looks like #5 is all that they are going to be able to achieve.  Creighton also ranked #17 in the nation for total avg. attendance (home, road, neutral)...that is saying a lot since they were able to draw very big crowds on the road as well.

Potential Creighton recruit Utoff chose Iowa.  Was initially blocked by Wisconsin from going to a great deal of BCS schools.

Maybe this should go into a Creighton 2012-2013 thread but here is a brief story on Doug McDermott.

Top 10 Thursday: The Most Indispensable

http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketba ... p-10-thurs

From ESPN:
1.Doug McDermott (Creighton) -- Few casual fans knew his name prior to the 2011-12 campaign. But McDermott became a star after averaging 23.2 ppg and 8.2 rpg. The Bluejays are the favorites to win the Missouri Valley, and they’ll enter next season as a nationally ranked squad with McDermott back. He’ll be even more essential next season, as the team tries to replace the production of Antoine Young (12.5 ppg, 4.5 apg). But the first-team All-American candidate will keep Creighton on the national radar. The 6-foot-7 forward is the most indispensable player in the country based on his contributions to the Jays and how he affects their national standing.
