Sports equipment and hockey rinks

Post by LookingGlass »

Two questions.  Are there any stores in Omaha that sell used sports equipment?   Saw there was a play it again sports in Lincoln, but didn't see anything closer.  Also, does the city or any suburb make any ice rinks in the winter?  Where I grew up, the city would put up boards and freeze the tennis court.  Thanks

There is an outdoor Ice Rink in the Gene Leahy Mall. UNMC was going to build one, haven't heard about the progress on that.

Backwards Coyote.... UNMC has had their rink open for two years, GLM never built one.  ConAgra had open, but it closed 12/31.   Some bank built one at Happy Hollow and Underwood, but I think its just a small thing for kids.

There is a hockey store at 120 and Blondo called "sticks and kicks" but I don't know what they sell.

Apparently Stick and Kicks has moved. They were at 120th just north of Blondo next to Qdoba, now it appears they are about a 1/2 mile further north.

The new Sticks and Kicks is awesome. Tons more space and equipment-hockey, soccer and lacrosse.
