Don't really blame you, things looked pretty bad after that game. Â Big 10 is down, but not as much as people are saying.Big E wrote:Well, I'll eat my hat. After the OSU blowout I had them pegged for 7-5 at best.
Not sure if that says more about me or the rest of the Big Ten.

Everthing I saw or experienced was fine with the exception of getting yelled at with a whole string do adjectives as we got out of the car at the Hotel Thur evening ( and, no it was not my driving ). The cold did da,pen things I am sure but the fact tht they were  in the game the entire time had to offset it a bit I would think.  We were not too far from the student esection and they were in the game and having fun. Plenty of Huskers around but everything I saw was good natured. Same goes for the tale gating.
The winter gear hid a lot of Husker fans iMO. Lot of black Husker winter gear that blended in. Â There was at least a 25% Husker croud and probably more realistic at 1/3.
Did have to laugh a bit at the PA announcement that was right before the game was to get started. They reminded folks to stay off the field of play, smoking policy, and a long dissertation about sportsmanship and treating their visiting fans as they would want to be treated when they traveled. Don't know why but I found it funny.
I have been a fan at Iowa games befor where if I was a fan of the team playing it was Iowa but I didn't really have a lot investe. Â It has been 10+ years when I lived in Cedar Rapids and things may have changed but I never really saw any bad experiences in the Games I attended over my years in CR.
For the record NEBUGEATER does not equal BUGEATER !!!!!!!

Back in the 70s & 80s the only problem we had was snowballs thrown at us by coors-upped Colorado fans & general mouthiness of Missouri fans. Â Oklahoma fans greeted us like family. Â KState was like a home game with more red than purple. Â Iowa State sometimes got hostile if NU beat ISU by a lot.
Nowadays NU really doesnt show up on a lot of radar. Â Michigan & Ohio State are vicious about each other. Â I put a Husker magnet on the van when I drive to Columbus with Michigan plates....otherwise if I am going more than a mile over the speed limit I get a ticket. Â Indiana is a blast. Â Havent been to Illinois or Northwestern games. Â Penn State is just wierd. Â That's going to take a few years.
If you get the chance to go to Ann Arbor, East Lansing or Columbus you'll have a lot of fun seeing the towns. Â Lots to do & great food & bars. Â Real B1G atmosphere.
