13 is a bit generous...16 is definitely too much! If the AP respected Creighton...should have dropped to around 15. Thanks to the coaches though for showing Creighton some respect. Nice to see Wichita ranked as well...should be a fantastic and tough year in the Valley.

Either way it will be lower than both after they loose to the Huskers on Thursday night!    :;):

Not that you need excuses when you win by 20, Coach McDermott mention after the game that the team was fairly shaken up by Josh Jones collapsing on the court during warm-ups and hauled off to the hospital on a stretcher 20 min before the game started.  They still didn't know what happened as of the end of the game.

Coach Greg McDermott said after the game that Jones fainted during pregame warm-ups and was taken from the Devaney Center on a stretcher.
Jones was diagnosed with a bacterial infection during his senior year at Omaha Central High School and underwent surgery to replace a heart valve. He resumed playing basketball in December 2007.

Very ugly first quarter. Good defense, but bad, bad shooting, and that rugby scrum...

It sound like Josh Jones will be out for several weeks. Will have surgery on Tuesday and then in a month. After that they will determine whether he can play again. Heart complications.

A nice road win against a good PAC-12 team! CU is 2-0 against PAC-12 and 2-0  against B1G-10.

Creighton won by 17 last night 71-54.  Probably the worst Creighton has played this season and they still won.  Nearly 6,000 there during a blizzard warning.

It appears that Josh Jones' career at Creighton is over....a sad sight to see, but he brought a lot of great moments to Creighton.

Good crowd tonight, although it didn't seem like it ever got too loud.  There should be other record crowds this season as well with the way the team is playing.  The halftime show of Quick Change was way better than the Jay's dancers (almost anything would be better halftime entertainment).

McDermott had a double double with 29 pts and 10 rbs.  Echenique also had a double double with 13 pts and 13 rbs.

Crowd was definately not real energized but when you are up double digits from the tip off basically it's tough to really keep them interested. When Evansville cut it to 7 they showed a little life, then Doug hits a 3 and the blowout is back on. Indiana State comes in Saturday afternoon pretty hot so that should be a much closer and more exciting game.

Creighton remained #16 in the AP poll but moved up one spot in the ESPN poll to #11. (they are only 15 pts from being #9)

Wednesday's game @ Ill St. is going to be tough, hopefully the Jays can have another undefeated week.

I am thinking they will be #10 in the ESPN poll but probably #11 in the AP due to Ohio St. knocking off Michigan (the last undefeated team)

Men's Basketball Ranks 10th & 12th in National Polls
Go Creighton wrote:Creighton moved up in both national polls released on Monday, including a season-best No. 10 overall ranking in the USA Today Coaches Top 25 poll. It’s the program’s highest ranking in the Coaches poll since being tabbed a best-ever ninth in the Jan. 20, 2003 edition.

In the Associated Press poll that Creighton more frequently uses, Creighton is 12th in this week’s poll, up one spot. Creighton’s best AP ranking this year was 11th on Nov. 26th. The program's highest AP ranking ever was 10th, done Jan. 20, 2003.

First team in the nation to 17 wins this season!

CU Attendance tonight 17,391 - 4th sold out game in a row, and 13th largest crowd. It also puts CU over 200,000 for the season. No MVC has ever been over 200,000 and CU has now done it 7 times!

Josh Jones had a second Hear procedure today.  It took 9 hours and according to the coach, "It went as well as it could have".

I am glad that I was able to move back to the area and reclaim my season tickets to get to watch all the games.  It has very exciting so far.  This team has done some unbelievable things already.  GO JAYS!

On a side note...Wisconsin won at Indiana tonight. (should help the Jays out since they beat Wisconsin already this year, and now after this win Wisconsin will probably be ranked.)

McDermott is now second in the nation after tonight...averaging 24.0 ppg.  He also passed Kyle Korver tonight to move into 5th place on Creighton's all-time scoring list.

He should be able to pass Buford by the end of the season pretty easily.  Buford was the only Blue Jay I did like since Im a Heat fan in the NBA.

Wisconsin also beat then #12 Illinois and now stands at 4-0 and on top of the B1G.
Also Boise State beat previously undefeated Wyoming away, and plays ranked #19 New Mexico at home tonight.
