What is really going to keep hurting Creighton are these (pretty significant) losses in Valley play, a conference which the rest of the country thinks is pretty lousy. I don't think it is, but that is the perception.

If I recall, last year, Creighton seemed to fall apart a bit at the middle/last half of the season, too. Maybe there is something coach McDermott should address?

Outside of Drake what are these "Significant" losses in the valley? Losing by 3 when WSU was a top 25 team on the road, or losing on the road at Indy State who was one of the last 4 In in last weeks bracketology? Drake was a bad loss.

Last night was a must win game from Indiana State, they came out on a mission with one of the biggest crowds their arena has seen since Bird was there, they lose they are probably out looking in, now they have wins over Miami, Ole Miss, Creighton and Wichita State, not a bad a resume.

I'm not saying Creighton is the final 4 team we all wanted but they are not a bubble team (yet). Still 1st in the valley and I would like to think a easy road home, split with ISU already and a home game against WSU are the main challenges, UNI will be tough but they are having a very up and down year.

Drake and Indiana St were blowouts. I guess WSU wasn't bad (though, it turns out they aren't as good as advertised, either), but it's looking like this Creighton team is runnig out of gas as of late.

Jays had the ball in hand in the final seconds to beat Drake. Not the ideal scenario but not a blowout. They fought back.

Yes, you are correct. My fault, for some reason I thought they lost that game by 15 or so.

Another big crowd is expected Saturday night and with the 9 pm start time it should be a loud crowd.  They announced that only 50 tickets remain as of Friday and standing-room only tickets will go on sale Sat morning at 10 am.

18,494 - second largest crowd.

And the announcers on ESPN2 have certainly been talking up Omaha.

Crazy last second chance for Creighton but I don't feel they executed it well. The Hail Mary only works if all you need to do is catch the ball, not turn around and try to shoot with less than a second. Big rematch from St Louis though and will make the MVC tourney that much more competitive and exciting.

They're in the typical McDermott late season free fall. Thought we'd avoid it this year...guess I was wrong!

Some of the sloppiest play I've seen all year. No way they took Ill St seriously.

It didn't look like that they had a much of a gameplan last night. They were taking ill-advised shots throughout the entire second half. They really need to get their act together.. Or else they'll be on the bubble if they're not already...

Yet another loss by the Jays....this time @ N Iowa 54-61.  This season got really ugly in the last 8 games.  Now they are going to have to really fight to even make the tournament.

They are going to need to go down to St Louis and win it...

Absolutely pitiful performance the last 3 minutes.. Maybe we were spoiled by their recent success, but I expected a lot more out of this squad. These losses are inexcusable. If they don't win down in St. Louis, then it's helloooo NIT.

I thought they had problems, but I never thought they'd let it get this bad.  :?

And thousands of ISU fans sigh and say, "good ole McD."

The clones have problems of thier own, no doubt, but we've seen this movie before.

Good luck Jays fans.

After watching hte Huskers fall to Ind last night I turned on the radio and listed to the second 1/2 of the CU game.  From what I listed to the part that was most dispointing is that I didn't hear a game where they got beat because UNI played the perfect game but rather becuase the Jays just kept playing themself out of a chance to win.

Creighton beats Evansville 71 to 68 to finally end skid....

Indiana State gets killed by Bradley, 68 to 80

What a weird year in the Valley.

Hard game to listen to. They were down big in the first half.

Season-saving win imo.. Looked like they were gonna fold again, but they managed to get stops on defense.

most definitely a season saving win! This was a must, and they did it. Let's hope this gets them back on track. A win on tuesday and especially at St. Mary's would be a big boost!

The WIERD hasn't been limited to the Valley this year.  Crazy all over.

Very nice win for the Jays...they were down 15-31 at one point in the first half but battled back and held on once they did get the lead.  Ugly first 10-15 min but a very valuable win.  Lets keep them coming.

After the game they had a long meeting in the locker room to try to get them to come together and play better.  Usually the media press conference starts about 5 min after the game, last night it was closer to 20 min after the game.

Hopefully it will do them some good. They MUST win out.

I'm sure this has been discussed ad nauseum before, but there was no way in heck there were 17,000 people there last night.  10,000 might be stretching it.

This is a joke right? Were you at the game? Easily 17,000 there, every section pretty full along with the bleachers behind the bud bar full again.

Now if you saw the joke of a student section half empty I could see where you get this assumption from.

They were sitting all the way to the top all the way around...  The lower bowl seats 9000+ so your 10,000 is way off.

The biggest problem is on nights like last night when the student section isn't full.

I'm sure the double D's were present, sitting courtside in the student section, as always.

I can't even begin to believe they were closer to 17K than to 10K.  I'll give you 12-13K at absolute most.  I still think I'm closer at 10K, though.

You are absolutely delusional if you think there were only 10-12,000. There was easily 17,000. You either have really bad eye sight or your perception of how many people there are in a space is pathetic. On the low end there may have been 16,500 but nothing nearly as close to your delusional statement.

You are dead serious? May I ask what you are basing this off of? Where you there or just flipped by it on TV? I can tell you for a fact and prove it to you there was over 17K there last night.
