And that game was hard to watch. Both teams were pathetic. I can't believe CU lost to Georgetown the way they played here, and they knew they also needed this game to even get a sniff of the bubble.

Oh well, CU just got a present. A second round bye!

Yeah besides having to play 2 games in less than 24 hrs for DePaul, they were also swept this season by the Jays. Both games so far looked like the Jays handled them pretty easily.

That was a big upset...so far 2 upsets out of 3 games. If the Jays continue to work on what they do, they will be fine tonight vs DePaul.

If anything, this really just shows what kind of a powerhouse this conference is.

What a first half by Dougie! And Magnigat! Great shot if him responding to the announcers.

They allowed DePaul to get a run there, when they looked top content but kept the double digit lead...

What a sweet pass...lol.

McDermott became just the 6th player in NCAA history to score 800 points in 3 consecutive seasons.

The list of the players is impressive:
Scored 800 Points in 3 Consecutive Seasons - Division I History
2011-14 Doug McDermott Creighton
1982-85 Wayman Tisdale Oklahoma
1976-79 Larry Bird Indiana St
1975-78 Freeman Williams Portland St
1967-70 Pete Maravich LSU
1957-60 Oscar Robertson Cincinnati

Curious -- only watch game cast online as I don't have cable --- what happened to Gibbs tonight? Based on the box score it looked like he was a non factor -- no points 2 rebounds, 1 assist.

Not quite sure what his deal was. He only played 18 min. Wonder if he was sick.

I've never, in my lifetime, seen a college basketball player as dominant and as efficient as McDermott. I think a lot of us take it for granted, but what he's doing out there, will never, ever happen again for someone in a Creighton uniform. It's too bad it's quickly coming to an end, but it was fun to watch.

He needs 2 more to move into 5th place. Great first half by the Jays. Wish it would have ended a little better, but hard to argue with a 12 pt halftime lead. I couldn't believe they stopped play when Xavier's coach got a technical. Creighton was right in the middle of an offensive set and they stopped play. That shouldn't have happened. The technical should have stopped play after the shot.

The crazy thing about McDermott is that he can score 30 points and it seems ho-hum. When a guy can score that many points in a college game and it doesn't seem like a big deal you know you're seeing something special.

Plus 25 vs. PU would be 20 less than he got a week ago. Also I have a feeling CU is going to absolutely shred their 2nd round matchup. No one can game plan for CU in a day and a half if they have never seen them before. It could get ugly.

I'm betting the usual win one and done typical Creighton showing in the tournament. I'll happily stand corrected if they go farther, but I doubt they do. Add on to that he's got only 9 so far tonight.
