Very cool to get some more recognition and an opportunity to showcase himself, especially being a senior.

Re: Creighton Basketball 2013-2014
Would liked to have seen Wragge make the next round. Overall very glad that he was recognized and got the opportunity to participate. It was also great seeing Doug and Coach Mac there as well.
Re: Creighton Basketball 2013-2014
So he fizzled out after first round? Lol. No way...

He only lost by one point to advance to the next round. He did well, the other players were just a bit better.

He wasn't supposed to be there, he wasn't cleared by the docs to be on the court, he's getting his knee drained and scoped next week.

Re: Creighton Basketball 2013-2014
Been thinking about how lame it would be to have to go to Eastern Europe for any chance of a professional Basketball gig haha!
Re: Creighton Basketball 2013-2014
I've always thought it would be pretty cool to go overseas to play professionally. There have been multiple former Mav hockey players that have done it. You get to travel and see another part of the world, all while getting paid to play a game. Not bad if you ask me.

Re: Creighton Basketball 2013-2014
Top 50 coaches: No. 23 Greg McDermott
First of all, you have to give a guy credit for good genes. I mean, fair's fair. It's the best recruiting tool of them all! Second, and more seriously, Greg McDermott deserves at least some -- and probably a big chunk -- of his son's rapid development from decent freshman to amazing sophomore and beyond. Third, basketball teams require more than one really good player, and Greg McDermott built a team around his son full of pitch-perfect supporting players and offensive specialists. There are some objections worth raising about Creighton's consistent struggles on the defensive end, and the lack of deep tournament success is the one thing Doug McDermott's career didn't give us. But from pretty much any angle, Greg McDermott did about as good a job managing his son's -- and his team's -- rise to the national elite.

When you consider some of the tiny places teams like St. John's, Butler and Nova play at sometimes that is pretty impressive.

I'd be curious to see a ranking based upon percent of capacity, to see if the rankings change any.

Wow, the gap between the B1G and 2nd is impressive. They've got to be near capacity with over 13k average as well.

Yeah I think the Big East is impressive like you mentioned.
The lowest avg in the Big East was 6,363 for DePaul. The Big Ten's lowest was 6,257 for Penn State.

I think if the Big East were at capacity, it would probably be #1. Most of the teams play in NBA size arenas (Creighton, Marquette, Georgetown, DePaul, Villanova and St. Johns for some games)Greg S wrote:Wow, the gap between the B1G and 2nd is impressive. I would like to see the attendance of each state and all their Div I schools. I think that NE may be the #1 state between Creighton's 17,896 and Nebraska's 15,419, the state avg would be 16,658.

Re: Creighton Basketball 2013-2014
O wait I forgot that UNO is Div I, so that is obviously going to make that number take a huge hit since they only draw near 1,000 most games.skinzfan23 wrote:I would like to see the attendance of each state and all their Div I schools. That was quite the rout. And the first time I remember Creighton really breaking into the scene. Also one of the first games I watched.

Re: Creighton Basketball 2013-2014
That is my birthday, and what a great birthday present it was. My wife was pregnant at the time and the baby kept jumping every time I would yell because I was excited watching the game. My favorite is to watch the big guy with the backwards hat sitting a few rows behind the Nova bench. He starts cheering every time Wragge hits a 3. "You better get a timeout Jay Wright"
