ESPN's college baseball schedule

Post by Big E »

OK, I know it's not technically Omaha related, but check this out:

http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/ne ... 4espn.html

Of the 39 games scheduled to be broadcast on an ESPN affiliate, 11 include Nebraska. Seven are in Lincoln, including the first four of the TV season.

Conspicuously absent, I think, is the NU-Creighton game at Rosenblatt. (Hey look... I tied it in!) Didn't this game set an all-time attendance record for regular season attendance a couple years ago? It's a shame Rosenblatt can't get some more national exposure outside of the CWS.

Either way, this is great for the sport, which in turn can only be good for Omaha.

Considering the strong relationship between ESPN, Omaha and even Creighton University, I was hoping we could get in on this, but unfortunately it didn't work out.

Hopefully if CU can make some more noise this year, we can get in on future packages. I have a feeling there will be more opportunities in the future for college ball on ESPN.

Maybe this can answer the question of "If we build that new baseball stadium, will there ever be any chances for TV exposure?"

Here's how I see it. New stadium=more pub. More pub=better recruits interested. Better recruits=better teams. Better teams=CWS. if it works out that way, we may see a tv game of 2.
