Looks the B1G has hit its meat grinder portion of the Conference schedule! Lots of hot teams going down lately.

The Huskers with only 16 points at half on the road at Northwestern. Crazier still is they are only down by 6.

If it's still Matt Davison doing the radio, he constantly complains about the refs. Nebraska could shoot 890 Free Throws, and he still complained.

yeah, it was Matt. He complained the whole game about non fouls, travelling not called, it was hard to listen to.

I don't think I've heard a radio broadcast of Basketball or Football where he hasn't been a whiny baby. They need to get a person who is actually knowledgeable to replace him. Sadly, I don't know who that'd be.

Favorable schedule ahead, aside from MSU... Huskers have a decent shot of landing in the top half of the conference.

Looks like the Huskers are starting put together a decent team! They looked good tonight even if it was against the worst team in the league.

Sheilds had a GREAT game last night.
In addition, looking at the standings make it even more sickening that the home loss to Mich. got away from the Huskers.

One of the best Nebraska road games I've seen in a while . I really hope Petteway stays, he is projected a first round NBA draft player from some sites.

I never saw the win coming in East Lansing. Huge win for Tim Miles. We're going down with a group Sunday to watch the Purde game. Looking forward to the pregame in the Haymarket.

Big 10 Honors Terran Petteway
Nebraska guard Terran Petteway was named Big Ten Co-Player of the Week Monday morning after leading the Huskers to a 2-0 week. The sophomore from Galveston, Texas averaged 19.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game as Nebraska posted wins against Illinois and at No. 9 Michigan State to improve to 6-6 in Big Ten play.

Petteway is just a blast to watch. Loved Lee B's article yesterday and what Miles said to the team just before tip off.

I was listining to 1620 driving home last night during the 5PM hour and they were doing a segment with a national College Basketball writer. Do not remember who it was but it was a good segment and they said after the segment that it was the first time he had been on. The guest made mention of with the way things have been going so far that Tim Miles would be on the radar for other job offers this year unless there is a complete tank at the end of the season. He said that Nebraska may need to open up the checkbook. This suprised me a lot. While I like what has been happening in Lincoln and think things are heaed in the right direction I think this kind of talk is way too early.

This guest said what has been done in Lincoln this year far exceeded what he though migth be possible. As a Husker Basketball follower and fan in the stands for many years I am glad to hear this kind of talk too but man, it can still change a lot eather way this season. By the end of the segment he softened it a bit and said he though Miles would be in Lincoln for at least a year or two more it was still a topic I did not expect. It kept comming up through the complete segment too.

If this was the same segment I heard, they were talking at first how an SEC team could get a booster to open their pocketbooks and say go get Miles. But it just sounded like a money issue.

On the other side of the coin Nebraska has a state of the art Stadium, facilities and crowds that now rival any big ten team.

The also talked about how Miles has made a career on coming in and rebuilding/fixing teams. I don't know how long he has stayed with one team, but maybe that is his MO, he likes coming in, putting a program on solid ground, and then finds another problem program..

I agree that he has rebuilt programs and then taken a step. I understand that there are programs that he could move to that in many ways would be a step up but what he has not had at his other stepping stones is a top Conf to play in, a facility system that is among the best, and a new commitment to Mens Basketball where there has been none. If it all holds together what he has the chance to do is build "HIS" program rather than be the caretaker of a top program. Granted, that would be nothing to turn down but being the Bob D of Husker basketball would not be bad eather. Only time will tell what his goels drive him to and all bets will be off if sucess doesn not come. No matter what, I think that talk is getting ahead of itself.

It sounds like to me the College Basketball writer really does not know much about Tim Miles. It is pretty well known that he is a "Big Ten guy" and had always dreamed about coaching in this league. I would be worried if other Big Ten schools came calling but that rarely ever happens where a coach jumps ship to another school in the same conference. Money is not an issue...in fact, Tim Miles is getting a pretty large paycheck as it is. And NU will be able to match almost any other offer.

I heard that. This talk though was mainly because the interviewer kept pushing the questions on him about money. Obviously as they noted you can't beat facilities, and if needed, Nebraska can afford to pay quite a bit to their coaches.

He is making a lot by Huker men's basketball standards. On the Big 10 and National level there is a lot of room upward yet. Of course he needs to earn that and I hope he does.

Fairly certain Nebraska was picked to finish near last in the B1G this year, and, so far, sit mid-way at 6th. He's exceeding expectations, but certainly nothing groundbreakings, especially considering the B1G's less-than-impressive showing this year.

The foul shots taken were way out of wack but the actual fouls called on each team was really close.
