I have been tooting the UNO to the Valley horn since CU left.  It wouldn't be an immediate splash, but the Valley could keep Omaha as a market, already has relationships with a lot of people in the city and UNO fits into the culture of other universities in the conference a lot better than CU did.  Plus I think UNO athletics is going to be tops in the Summit before too long.

I think that is a great idea.  They would probably fit in better than Loyola is right now.

UNO is hanging tough with Minnesota on the Big 10 Network right now.  They have hit 10 3's in the first half and are tied 44-44 at halftime.

I like how UNO is simply going by "Omaha."  Smart move by UNO athletics there.

Lived by the 3 in the first half, couldn't hit one in the second. Only down by 4 with three minutes left. Gave a good show for BTN

On the surface, Minnesota leading Nebraska-Omaha — who is in just their second year of playing a schedule comprised of almost exclusively Division I competition — 83-77 with just minutes remaining in regulation may seem like a lackluster effort by the Golden Gophers. That’s far from the case.

Minnesota played well. Their potent offense ran up 90+ points in a 92-79 win, and they excelled in transition throughout the game. Deandre Mathieu poured in 27 points on 9-11 shooting. Their defense left much to be desired, but a tip of the hat must be given to Omaha.
Head coach Derrin Hansen is building something good in Omaha — no doubt about that. A team just doesn’t go into Iowa and lead the Hawkeyes with less than ten minutes remaining without being a talented bunch.

UNO isn't eligible for the NCAA or NIT tournaments for another two years, but they are eligible for the CBI and CIT postseason tournaments. It would be awesome if they could meet up with Creighton or Nebraska in the postseason.

Well for Creighton's sake, lets hope they don't meet up with them. No offense to UNO, but that would be a major dissapointment of a season for Creighton to not make the NCAA tournament.

With the win today UNO's worst case scenario is ending the season at .500.

UNO loses a heartbreaker 96-95 in OT. 16-14 overall 5-9 in conference play. There was some rumblings of a CBI or CIT invite so we will see how that shakes out.

Glad to see some paying attention to this. Nice to see UNO making strides. Both NU and CU need to start scheduling the Mavs.

Along with NU women going to their dance, CU women likely to get a WNIT bid (they were on the bubble and just lost a 2OT game to #2 seed St John's after losing a 7 point lead with minutes left). Then I heard of other invites... Didn't Wayne and CC get invited...

Nice to see UNO have a successful first season in D1. Hopefully, when they are post-season NCAA eligible, they will continue to have success. It would be fun to have all three D1 programs in the NCAA at once.
