Can you imagine the contract Bo would have at Iowa????
Great article by Sam McKewon today on how Nebraska continues to underpay their assistants.

Bo Pelini - Head Football Coach, Youngstown State Penguins.
Re: Nebraska Football 2014
It wouldn't surprise me if Bo stayed there for a long time.. must be nice being back where your extended family lives.
Re: Nebraska Football 2014
While I'm not surprised that the meeting was recorded, I wonder how many secret tapes of this guy are out there?

Bo Pelini insults A.D. Shawn Eichorst in expletive-filled talk during final meeting with players
By Dirk Chatelain / World-Herald staff writer wrote: LINCOLN — Bo Pelini became the new head football coach at Youngstown State Wednesday. He didn’t leave Nebraska without expressing disdain for Athletic Director Shawn Eichorst.
Pelini met with players on Dec. 2 at Lincoln North Star High School. In a 30-minute meeting, he provided a window into the strained — almost non-existent — relationship between he and his former boss.

OWH has the transcript of Pelini's last conversation with the players. I hear that it is full of expletives and tears Eickorst apart
Re: Nebraska Football 2014
One of the players leaked the tape it sounds like. Glad he is gone.

Funny thing, I heard this from an OWH dude in the elevator, then noticed it was Terry Kroeger. Oops, nice meeting you...
Re: Nebraska Football 2014
Maybe someone recorded and leaked it in an effort to get a non disparagement clause invoked to ruin his payout.

Reports say there is no non disparagement clause, but, he might have cooked his goose with those comments, not ever getting a FBS job ever again.jessep28 wrote:Maybe someone recorded and leaked it in an effort to get a non disparagement clause invoked to ruin his payout.

Unprofessional, sure. But I think he had a point. It sounds like Nebraska Athletics takes themselves a little too seriously sometimes.

This goes far beyond unprofessional. It might border on Unprofessional if this was an hour after he got dismissed but the fact that this was two days after the fact with time to cool down and think is crazy.TitosBuritoBarn wrote:Unprofessional, sure. While most everyone (fans, administrators, probably even a few inanimate objects with red "N"s on them) involved in Husker Athletics take themselves far too seriously most of the time, I think what Pelini said was ridiculous at best and grounds for removing his severance at worst. The guy is a certifiable nutcase and probably has a series of mental issues. The fact he gets to interact with college aged kids is a travesty.TitosBuritoBarn wrote:Unprofessional, sure. Re: Nebraska Football 2014
Looking for a way to not pay Bo is bad business. Not honoring contracts and finding handy reasons to not pay debts is the work of a weasel. Bo needed and deserved to be fired, but the way it was done was handled poorly and that's why Bo was so upset off! It would of been a lot better if Bo had been told upfront at the start of the season that just winning the games against the chump teams was not going to cut it. Bo should of been told that if he was going to loose badly to the good teams then he would be fired.

From everything being said on both sides it appears that nothing was being said to Bo. If you are going to Pearl Harbor somebody you better expect that they are going to go off. I think Bo was afraid his goose was cooked after the Wisconsin beat down but he didn't know for sure.Coyote wrote:How do you know what Bo was told?

Re: Nebraska Football 2014
Nebraska wasn't embarrassed ...
Re: Nebraska Football 2014
I loved how we played last night. It wasn't it embarrassing at all, far from it. Loved the fight in our team. Everyone kept waiting for them to crumble and it did not happen. I would have loved to see them win but was very proud at the end of the night.

Dumb question, when do tickets for Nebraska football 2015 go on sale and times?

Season ticket renewals should be going out in the spring.

You can get on the waiting list any time. Not sure the list is that long any more either.

Avery Moss lost his appeal. He's not coming back in the fall or ever. He's done at Nebraska.

Nebraska actually put up a lot of points with Beck as coordinator. We were one of the top offenses in the Big 10.

Re: Nebraska Football 2014
I just heard a rumor that Carl Pelini is going to coach Bellevue East.... Anyone heard anything about this?
Re: Nebraska Football 2014
There was an OWH article speculating about Carl Pelini and several Omaha area high schools. I have yet to see anything stating that he's received or accepted any offers.

A Bellevue East grad told me he heard about it about 30 minutes ago... I know he was looking at Des Moines, and knew someone at Bellevue, but I thought it was West...
