Wowt's big red extra facebook page posted a video with three of the instances. Looked really convincing, the timing of the MSIU defender's clap was right before Mark Pelini snapped the ball.

MSU Student section:
Re: Nebraska Football 2014
What ticked me off was that early in the game we had a chance to score a field goal, but we punted instead. Not a smart move. Then we finally get a touchdown and instead of kicking for the extra point, we go for a 2-point conversion that failed. Then we get another touchdown from a punt return and again we go for 2. It failed again. Apparently we hadn't learned from before.
If we had kicked for the field goal instead of punting, then kicked the extra point on both touchdowns instead of trying for 2-point conversions, we could've tied the game up and had a chance to send the game into overtime and possibly win it.

Re: Nebraska Football 2014
Last year, we needed a Hail Mary to beat Northwestern, but not this year. Final score: 38-17.
The offense wasn't doing so good in the first half, but in the second, it woke up. The defense sure stepped up.

Why does that not surprise me? Maybe if we beat Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa, we'll be in the Top 10.

I'd hate to see NU end up in central Florida again.

Would have emu u rather seen Minn win. If the Huskers can keep, winning we would have probably been playing a ranked team when we play the Gophers. Now, not likely

Re: Nebraska Football 2014
To put another spin on that... If NU would have beaten MSU, they would have 2 losses and likely out of the top 25. So even if the skers were undefeated, they would not have a win against a ranked team. How many one loss (SEC) teams would have been ranked ahead of an undefeated NU team?

For almost all the record keeping i the fact that you beat a rank team matters when you play them not a number of weeks later.Coyote wrote:To put another spin on that... Which also inflates the SEC because they get to count a top ten win over USCe because they were ranked in a preseason poll.nebugeater wrote:For almost all the record keeping i the fact that you beat a rank team matters when you play them not a number of weeks later.Coyote wrote:To put another spin on that... Not sure how they have Ohio State and Michigan State in the Rose and Fiesta. They face each other, so by function one of them would have 2 losses (at least). I would venture to say that would knock one of them off the big bowl ladder.

Michigan State #8, Nebraska #15, Ohio State #16 in Playoff Rankings.
Re: Nebraska Football 2014
Nebraska beat Purdue 35-14. We're now 8-1. The offense wasn't very good today. Losing Ameer Abdullah sort of hurt us. Luckily, next week is a bye so that'll give him time to heal. We're going to need him for Wisconsin. We can't play as sloppy as we did today or they'll kill us badly.

Are they predicting NU loses to Wisconsin next week?
Re: Nebraska Football 2014
Wouldn't surprise me one bit. Wisconsin steamrolled Maryland and Rutgers. Maybe they just got lucky against weak teams? I don't know.Coyote wrote:Are they predicting NU loses to Wisconsin next week?
But if we don't fix our mistakes from Saturday (fumbling snaps, miscommunication, receivers in the wrong places, throwing interceptions) and Ameer doesn't get fully healed, then Wisconsin will beat us and badly. If we make those mistakes, then Wisconsin WILL exploit them. We cannot afford to underestimate them like we did McNeese State. Their offense and defense have stepped up big time recently. They've got quite a talented running back in Melvin Gordon and he can definitely run the ball. If we can't stop him, then we're in big trouble and might as well kiss the Big 10 Championship goodbye.
Re: Nebraska Football 2014
We destroyed Rutgers starting QBs knee the week before and Maryland has been a punching bag lately don't think you can take too much from these blowout wins other than Wisconsin is playing really good D.

Re: Nebraska Football 2014
With Nebraska on the bye, I was surprised to see them jump Michigan St after their loss to Ohio St. Because of the head-to-head I think Michigan St still should have sat one over Nebraska, at least until after the Wiscy game this weekend. But oh well, I'll take it. Gotta win the next three to stay relevant
Re: Nebraska Football 2014
These polls are pretty meaningless now that the playoff committee has started releasing theirs. I expect MSU stay ahead of Nebraska in that one.

Wisconsin now apparently has the #1 defense. So it looks like we might be headed for a repeat of Michigan State.

Not sure how many more games like this that Bo can survive. There is a very real reason that Nebraska has zero respect nationwide.
