Unfortunately all three times have had the same player guarding the guy who took the last shot.  Dingman has had a tough year.
Dingman is a horrible player in the Big East....he was ok in the Valley, but he has lost all confidence in his shot. Here are his season totals up to date:
Season Totals
SEASON TEAM MIN FGM-FGA FG% 3PM-3PA 3P% FTM-FTA FT%
2014-15 CREI 420 25-75 .333 13-41 .317 22-33 .667
2013-14 CREI 501 40-89 .449 11-43 .256 21-29 .724
2012-13 CREI 495 44-109 .404 33-83 .398 12-16 .750
2011-12 CREI 252 33-76 .434 26-62 .419 9-14 .643

As you can see, his numbers these past 2 years in the Big East are atrocious (especially shooting 3's, combined 24-84 for 28.6%) Compared to his Valley days of 59-145 40.7%

Glad to see the Jays keep fighting. That is 4 of their last 8 for wins. 2 of the next 3 are winnable games as well (@Seton Hall, a team that won on a buzzer beater against Creighton and vs Xavier, whom they already beat)

Tonight's win was also the 400th of Coach Mac's coaching career. His whole family, including Doug, where there to witness it.

Good win. Even at our worst CU shouldn't fall behind DePaul.

Fun win on the road. I've been a big proponent of Geoff Groselle since the beginning of the season, but hats off last night for Will Artino. He played a very good game along with his usual effort.

I fell alseep before it finished..before I did I checked the score and thought to myself "In what heart breaking fashion will they lose this one?". Glad that wasn't the case. To think if Creighton could have won a few of those heart breakers, they could have at least made a post season tourney (CBI? CTI? I forget which)

DePaul was just a complete mess last night. Creighton played decently, especially at getting rebounds. That really helped them.

Also, it was fairly funny when they recognized Doug, a Bulls player, in Creighton gear. The DePaul crowd didn't quite know how to feel, although 2/3 of the crowd was Creighton fans anyway.

Kind of crazy to think two basically buzzer beating shots don't drop and CU would have a real argument for an NIT bid.

There are actually about 6 games that they lost that came down to the last few possessions. If they could have won half of those, the season wouldn't look as disastrous. As I have stated before, I am really glad that play has picked up as of late, and it definitely appears that the guys are giving their all. (unlike another team in this state)

Man that was a great game. So surreal. I loved it even more b/c it was on my birthday.

The key to keeping the game from being a blowout, will be a fast start for CU. If they start like they did @ Nova, it could be a long night.

Well Creighton managed to choke away the game twice in the last minute this time. They just didn't have enough talent this year.

Eh, it doesn't matter either way. They proved they could play hard and hang with one of the country's top teams.

In a rebuilding year like this, moral victories may taste like sh*t, but it's better than nothing.

Like you all said, another tough loss, but I am proud of the way the Jays continually hang in there. The #4 team in the country and the the Jays almost pulled the upset. The crowd was great tonight and the players really fed off the energy. Unfortunately they couldn't get the W, but hopefully they will on Senior day on Saturday, which is also a "white out"

This team was really without a true leader. Chatman was supposed to step it up, but disappeared for a while, Kreklow tried to take that spot and did as good as you could ask a one year player. We will be losing a slew of seniors, Chatman, Kreklow, Artino, Dingman, Brooks... But no one took over. Word is Mo Watson will be the man next year, in fact almost already is.

Creighton did about as good as many people predicted, I think people thought too much about some early wins, I sure did, but all in all, for a rebuilding year, getting used to the physicality of the BEast, it was a learning year.

You got to hand it to the boys though, they never quit. They came every day and gave it what they had, even if it was at times frustrating.. Hope that on senior night they feel some love.

I appreciate the players' effort again last night, but I was also frustrated with the coach's decision to have Artino in the game for the final seconds. When Nova needed a basket in the final minute, they drew up a play for one of their best scorers. Creighton doesn't have the same offensive talent to choose from, but it made no sense to have Artino in when Creighton had time for one last shot. I like Artino's intensity and effort, but he his definitely not a one on one shot maker.

I agree, I think Groselle is definitely a much better offensive weapon.

Also why do we not attempt to use the 2 for 1 strategy at the end of halves. This is at least the 5th time this season when Creighton has had the ball with around 45-50 seconds left and has a chance to get a quick shot/score and then get the ball back. On all occasions we did the worst thing possible in that situation. They waited about 20 seconds to get a horrible shot and because they used that much clock, it gave the opposing team the last shot. For a team that has struggled to score most of the season, every possession is precious and we need to get as many shot attempts as we can.

With less than ten seconds, I would have been fine with not using any of the three post players and just put five shooters or play makers at that point in the game. Groselle or Zach Hanson would also have made more sense.

I hadn't noticed the part about not taking advantage of the 2 for 1 strategy at the end of halves.

In general, I still think Coach McDermott has done an impressive job keeping the team ready to play despite all the losses. It kind of bites that CU has had two chances to tie or win a game with a handful of seconds left (4 - 10 seconds) and Artino has been the one to take both shots. Despite losing Chatman, Brooks, and Kreklow, I am somewhat optimistic that CU will be more successful next year.

I think there is no doubt they will be more successful next year, at least record wise. They are looking at finishing maybe 14-18 this year. I feel pretty confident that they will better that record. Still not expecting much top 25 play next year but at least 4-5 games over .500.

That's what I'm thinking, but it really depends on how good the new point guard will be. Hopefully they will still have the same team chemistry.

Another one pt loss after leading in the last min. I really feel bad for the seniors, but at least they gave it their all. They lost 9 games this season by 4 pts or less, including their last 4 losses by a total of 8 points. Crazy to think that they were that close to finishing in the top half of the conference if even half of those games go their way.

Chatman needs 9 pts in Wednesday's game vs DePaul to get 1,000 for his career.

I just don't think I've ever seen a team so unlucky throughout the season in my life. The good news is that even with Valley recruited players as the leadership, Creighton was right in many many of those games. I think there is hope coming in the next few seasons, but we'll see.

All year Creighton hasn't had that player that at the end of the game you put the ball in his hands and let him do his thing.
