Glad to see the Jays get the win. And with that one, they have one more victory than Nebraska does on the season. Unfortunately for Creighton they have a very tough matchup in Georgetown, who has beaten the Jays 76-61 in DC and 67-40 in Omaha.

Good lines for Chatman 11pts, 5rebs, 5 assts. Brooks 12pts, 5rebs, 5 assts. Artino 9pts and 8rebs. Miliken 22pts, which was one short of his career high.

Artino played possessed and I was happy to finally see my dream line-up of Grosselle and Hanson in the game together at the same time for a little while in the first half. Against a big Georgetown team, Hanson might get more time at the four spot tomorrow. Speaking of Georgetown, I prefer that Creighton play Georgetown instead of Villanova because Creighton played two poor games against the Hoyas earlier this season. Usually that doesn't happen three times in one season. Georgetown could have some trouble getting motivated to play a team that they probably don't respect much.

How mind blowing would it be if Creighton stunned everyone and won the tourney?

Certain segments of this state's populace would have their heads explode :)

I think St. John's is going to put it together and take it. Basically hope it is anyone but Nove though. That would be boring.

I am thinking Georgetown is a good bet to win it. They beat Nova by 20 earlier this year and have been playing pretty good ball lately.

Doesn't look like that is going to happen. They lost to Providence today.

Haha thats what I get for thinking the most inconsistent team could come together at the right time.

Yep - Season over for the Jays, turnovers at the end of the game and a 13-2 run by Georgetown.

Not too surprising to see the season end like that. They lost 10 games by 5pts or less. I feel bad for the seniors, but those close losses should go a long way towards helping the underclassmen in future years.

The jays played with heart and gave a tough Georgetown team all they could handle. I'll remember this year's team as one with a lot of heart. I'm impressed that team chemistry stayed positive and played with a lot of passion despite the losses.

That's a bummer, but at least the season wasn't riddled with blowout losses. The new guys coming in, the young guys already here, and the older guys like Miliken should make next season a bit more fun I'd say.

I like that stat and I think it's good for Omaha and all, but anyone who has been to a game knows they don't average anywhere near 17,000. Last year, multiple games I went to saw the lower part 3/4 full and the upper part 1/2 at times. It was bad. But every game I went to they somehow announces 15K+

We have had this discussion numerous times on the board, but every college program measures ticket sales by the number of tickets sold. I have been a season ticket holder for 8 years and within the last 3-4 years, with the exception of a few games, the actual attendance at most of them is probably in the 14-15,000 range. I have watched Iowa for example on tv, they announced attendance of 14,000 when clearly the arena only had around 5,000 in it. Overall, I am very impressed with the fan base that Creighton has built. Only having 8,000 enrolled, but able to average more than double that for basketball is phenomenal.

Here is another interesting stat:

The Bluejays became the first team since Louisville in 2001-02 to average more than 17,000 while posting a losing record.

The Huskers made #10 on the list and it was the same thing. The only diff is that the Huskers started to report tickets sold when they moved to the new arena. Before that it was reported as actual attendance with only in the last year or two of the Bob they were reporting both.

I get why these are are reported as tickets sold but I really wish everyone would report actual.. Only in a dream though I know.

I agree with reporting actual people in attendance, but as long as every school is reporting the same thing, it is ok.

You must be omitting the last two seasons with Doug...

Sorry, I meant in the last few games most games were 14,000 or more. There were a few games, usually due to weather, that had less, but every other game was definitely over 14,000.

With the Blue Jays ( Toronto Version) playing the Royals I had this old random thought of the lawsuit pop into my head. Did anyone ever hear what came of this?
