Miles is not even close to the hot seat. Next year we have two extremely talented recruits coming in with Marrow and Watson, as well the Kansas transfer White III will be eligible.

If you thought this was going to be a quick turn around process then you haven't been a Nebraska basketball fan for a while.

Big time recruits is one thing, being able to coach them is another. Miles has been able to turn around some lower level teams, maybe through recruiting and coaching up, but can he do it on this level? Maybe these type of players need a different style of motivation that he is not accustomed to...

That might end up being true, I highly doubt it but it could be. People need to calm down right now, what happened last year was a lot of luck and was ahead of schedule.

Maybe two swift kicks in the butt instead of one. :D

Personally I think it is how a team gels..... rather than the 'type of player' I noticed UNI and Wichita are ranked #10 & #11 --- not sure how many of these type of players do they have --- or do they just play well as a team?

It's also a whole different ballgame playing in a conference like the Big 10. With UNI and Wichita they don't have the daily grind like Nebraska. CU is experiencing something close to that in the Big East too. It's a lot harder to rebuild in the Big East than the Valley. Will be interesting to see how McDermott does with more elite talent the 2nd time around. He had a rough go in Ames.

I'm incredibly perplexed by folks who say Miles is on the hot seat. He has a proven track record, and he's bringing in some highly thought of prospects for next year.

Plus losing that one assistant coach has to come into play as well I'd think?

Miles isn't on the hot seat. People just like to talk about crazy stuff sometimes. This is Nebraska basketball after all. Now there were some rumblings about Groce at Illinois if he had a bad year this year, but that program has a different history and expectations.

It's only year three for Miles as well. Some people need the internet taken away from them when they say that his job is on the line. .

3 years is more then enough to see Miles will not work out. The guy out there that can find 6ft 10in unknown diamonds in the rough that can be brought to Nebraska and be coached up may not exist. Might just be asking to much. I don't know. I do know that Miles is not that guy.

MIles is a nice guy, has a good staff, and runs a clean and respectable program. Last year they went to the dance. He will be fine.

BBall is not UNL's strength.

He is what they need.

Better luck next year.

Yes Miles is doing just fine remember before last year it had been 16 years without an ncaa berth. Expectations will correct and people will still come out to watch the team but grandpa is right there is no coach out there that can come in and turn Nebraska into the next Kansas.

Last year they had the benefit of no one seeing them coming, taken for granted (that they would lay down)... this year, they were all hyped up, got some attention. They obviously still have a long way to go.

Meanwhile, I'm looking forward to spring football (sorry, baseball not showing us anything new either).

With Andrew White transferring from KU and the 2 super recruits coming in, things are definitely on the upswing in Lincoln.

Maryland 31
Nebraska 29 (half)

A NU win gives them a 10 seed and a bye.

Missed FTs doom the Huskers. NU a 12 seed, vs 13 Penn St on Wednesday, winners gets #5 Iowa.

Yeah we really needed to hit those free throws. Very costly.

This was a Danny Nee type season, for sure.
