So if UNO is diminishing the color red in its profile, besides black (and white) does it have a tertiary color?

Its still Red White and Black, but they want the Black to be the dominant color.

However they went all Red on 12/20/2014

Yeah Red is still in there being de-emphasized in their marketing. Going to be interesting to see if they make a major change with their uniforms next year. I'm assuming so, since the timing would be right with the move to their new facility, and Lawlor's seems to be attempting to get rid of their existing inventory.

Just ordered tickets for Saturday's game, I'm surprised that it was easy to find center ice tickets.

Last year I heard Mav commercials all the time on 1620, but now I rarely hear them, I wish they'd pump it up more.

UNO has really dialed back on marketing this year. Too bad, very special team. Normally they do a 12 days of Xmas promotion during December with a bunch of specials for the 2nd half of the year. I have also not seen anything on a "sell out" game this year.

Wear black on Saturday.

We are buying a big block of tickets for Saturday. Bringing my squirt hockey team and their families.

Will your team be playing between one of the intermissions? Or is it just an outting?

No, just an outing. We got to do the intermission thing the last two years. The kids absolutely love that.

Ah, that's cool. I was hoping your guys would be playing though. Make the intermission even more fun.

I don't know why, but UNO has not done a lot of that if at all with the Mites. They still do the part where one player from Omaha Hockey Club gets to come out with the team for the lineups but that's it. I know the marketing gal Jenneken that organized it before for UNO is not with them anymore. OHC has been doing it this year with the Lancers. The kids though absolutely loved skating at the Clink. Last year when we were waiting to take the ice (in the locker room right behind the Mavs bench), Blais stopped by and high fived all of the players. I can not begin to tell you how jacked up they all were. I was very impressed because UNO was in a dog fight and he obviously had the 3rd period to deal with.

I always called it the fastest 5 minutes in hockey. We were on a very strict timetable. It always seemed to last about 10 seconds.

To me, I have always loved when the kids got to play at the intermission. Sometimes that was the highlight of the game.

I wonder if they are trying to give the ice more time to set up. Last year there were a few times it was still wet when the next period started and the had to wait a few min.

Not that they haven't had any ice problems this year...

Lawlor's has produced some really cool t-shirts and sweatshirts for this weekend's showdown. I know the UNO students are being giving a bunch of the t shirts free, but the public can buy them. You can see them here:

I believe that with a 7500 seat arena currently under construction for next season, the last thing UNO wants is to try and draw crowds bigger than that this year.

Mike, considering the number of STH's I have personally been told that they are probably not renewing for 2015-16, I think they will be lucky to fill 7500. The cost of the tickets and the lack of reserved parking is pushing us out the door.

I totally agree with this. UNO has really dialed down their marketing this year. I think the last thing they want to do is to be having crowds at the Clink that will not fit in the new building.

Over 11 thousand in attendance (according to the radio) sees UNO win in overtime.

Awesome!

Also, listening to it on the radio...there are two stupid Stroke Awareness commercials they keep airing over and over and over.

I think there was something ridiculous like 16,000 something for a Wisconsin(?) match a few years ago.

They battled in 2 close contests in Grand Forks and 2 in Omaha. Pretty evenly matched teams.

Did they ever say what happened to Zombo? I don't think he played after the 1st period.

As one of the other UNO fans said Saturday, after this series, no one will ever be able to say that the Mavs don't belong in the top 5 teams this season.

Well played games. I think that UNO still has gas in their tank and could improve more this season.

I think some of UNO's mistakes this weekend were simply mental let downs. The easy goal at their end after winning the face off is a perfect example. With added confidence and knowledge of what it takes to stay with trams into the third, I think they will be able to extend their season well into the playoffs...
