CU baseball rises in ratings for Shocker showdown

CU is now #28 at 28-8 (their best 36 game record ever) going against their archnemesis WSU 31-11.

WSU has been in and out of the rankings, so this will be key if the jays want to move into the top 25 next week. Winning the UW-Milwaukee series would be a nice help too. We also have the series with Evansville comming up too, and they also have been in and out of the rankings. And keep in mind the next Husker game is less than a week away, so the rest of the season will be tough for the Jays, hopefully we'll pull it out. :D

Evansville has done incredible damage to themselves by getting swept at formerly-last-place Illinois State.

WSU has been a real Jekyl and Hyde story this year. They have a lot of talent, as always and have won some big games. However, they've getting beat around in the KU/K-State games (they're 0-2 vs a K-State team that 1) Creighton killed in Manhattan and 2) lost to an NAIA school 6-1 in Manhattan as well). However, this weekend's series will probably be for the regular season championship.

With baseball at Wichita State and softball hosting Southern Illinois, the Jays can go a long ways to attaining both MVC championships this weekend.
