Mutual throws weight behind bid for Olympic swim trials

I didn't realize Mutual of Omaha was already a major sponsor of USA Swimming.

"Of the three cities they're going to (the selection committee)," John Hildenbiddle said, "only one city has an official sponsor of USA Swimming." (by the way we're competing against San Antonio and the 'Twin Cities')

"If the Qwest Center Omaha is picked for the 2008 Olympic Trials, Mutual of Omaha would be a title sponsor for a Grand Prix qualifier two weeks before the event. The company also would be involved with the AquaZone fanfest in the convention center area."

"A push within the company already has led to more than 350 employees signing up as possible volunteers for the eight-day meet."

Actually, anyone can sign up to be a volunteer. This doesn't mean you are going to get the position or anything, but it will reflect well upon Omaha if there are a lot of volunteers signed up. its at omahasports.com
